PAWS 4 FUN is a friendly, not-for-profit dog training service based in mid-Cornwall. Kennel Club listed and embracing the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers’ Code of Ethics, we use only motivational, reward-based training methods to ensure dogs are relaxed, willing to learn and having fun – along with their owners!
six week basic training class for beginners
Teach your dog basic obedience such as sit, down, stay, come and deal with problems like jumping up, pulling on the lead and not coming back when called. Better understand your dog and learn techniques to develop a happy, well-mannered canine companion.
Ideal for dogs new to training, from young puppy to adult, including rescue dogs. Also great for progressing earlier basic lessons or home training and for those dogs in need of a refresher.
Includes six classes held indoors at Tregony Village Hall, between Truro and St Austell, on Monday evenings.
Courses are organised by dog age, grouping typical levels of comprehension, confidence and behaviour. This allows for increasingly tailored classes as the dog matures to work on any specific needs or problem areas.
Select Puppy (up to 6 months old) or Adult based on the age of your dog at the start of an upcoming course:

is happy & a joy to own.
teaching people to train dogs since 2002
PAWS 4 FUN was founded with the ordinary pet dog in mind, catering for any age, breed/mix and ability. We are a not-for-profit organisation, providing fun and effective dog training classes in mid-Cornwall.
Our aim is to help owners better understand their dogs and through teaching positive handling techniques, enable them to calmly motivate their dogs to do willingly as asked. Owners who know how their dog thinks and behaves will be able to develop a happy, balanced, well-mannered canine companion – building a strong bond and fulfilling a lifetime of stress-free enjoyment together.
We are Kennel Club listed, with full public liability insurance and our trainers adhere to the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) Code of Ethics, which means we do not use or condone any harsh training methods. Dogs, like people, find it easier to learn when they are happy and relaxed, which is why we teach reward-based training and make our classes small, fun and informal.
PAWS 4 FUN trainers have many years of experience in both training dogs and teaching handlers. Together, they have helped thousands of people and their canine companions to learn new lifelong skills. All have owned an assortment of different breeds and been involved in a wide variety of dog associations, sports, activities, initiatives and charities.
